The Financial Services Register
Our new tool for consumers makes it easier to check if financial services firms are authorised and have permission to sell you products and services.
In the UK, nearly all financial service activities must be authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. You can search our Register for firms and individuals and the activities firms have permissions for.
Using an authorised firm, with the correct permissions, will greatly reduce the risk of harm. It won’t remove all risk.
The Register does not confirm whether the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) or Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) protection will definitely apply if something goes wrong.
For more consumer information see our FCA Consumer pages.
You can search by name or reference number. You can narrow your search results by adding a location.
The PRA supervises around 1,500 banks, building societies, credit unions, insurers and major investment firms.
